Dutch parliament defeat bill in favor of Holland Casino

A brunch of the Dutch parliament didn't pass a measure that would have permitted monopoly casino operator Holland Casino to open a gambling Web site on a tryout basis. The proposed law didn't get approved by a margin of only 2 votes (35 to 37).
Originally the Staten-Generaal approved the bill in 2006.

Losses in revenue by big internet gaming companies were expected if the bill would have pass, and would have force these businesses to approach a new market strategy.

Because every country in Europe has different gambling laws, the EU Commission is periodically admonishing some of the member states to change gambling regulation in order to level the field for a fair and balance competition in the gaming market.
