Canadian Gambling on the Rise - The gambling industry in Canada has grown and has become a major element of the entertainment industry.

The research made for the Canadian Gaming Association by HLT Advisory Inc., alleged that over 135,000 Canadians are directly involve in the gaming industry, but when indirect influence of economic activity in the area are factored in, the total amount of full-time jobs supported by the gambling industry top 267,000 jobs.

The study implicit that based on 2006 statistics, the gaming industry put in $15.3 billion to the economy . Most of it, $8.7 billion went to support government programs and services and charities. The balance, $6.6 billion is been spent to support operations, paid out as salaries, and used to pay for goods and services.

The industry also created about $721 million in non-gambling revenue, like food, beverage and entertainment.
